How do you manage stress?
Questions like this tend to be weird for me, because I often don’t explicitly address several things in life. I mostly rely on ‘winging it’ for quite a few topics. Stress is one of them.
This could be a result of decades of adaptation with undiagnosed neurodivergence, but I tend to be out of touch with myself. If I can’t formulate some type of overly intricate plan with some side contingency plans, while comprehending the mechanics for how things work, then I probably won’t address something directly. This is something I just do on autopilot.
Inside of my head, I’ve explicitly joked about how I “hate it when life forces me into paying attention to things.” I can become an Electronics Technician for the US Navy, but this is one of my quirks. Then I think I enjoy it when I have to respond to life’s challenges because challenges keep people sharp and force them into proving themselves. I have an attraction to pure problem solving.
I suppose I technically rely on stress non-management. I just do things in life and form semi-reliable habits. Then I pull things off, but there end up being a ton of weird little issues with how I pulled something off because I was focusing too much on the “problem solving as an independent autonomous agent using internalized tactical and strategic skills” dynamic and not enough on basically everything else.
Some sort of ISTP-INTJ hybrid thing.
